Tree Surgery Courses and Training
Who is Keith Yates?
Keith has been involved in Arboriculture for 38 years. He had his own tree surgery business for over 30 years before passing it on to his son. He has done most of his training work at Merrist Wood College and more recently as a full time tutor in Arboriculture.
Most of his trainees get through the NPTC competence tests. The RFS course at Merrist Wood in 2008-2009 gained an 85% pass rate compared to the national average of 35%. As tutor, he taught general arboriculture, plant knowledge, pest and diseases as well as the practical skills to the NC, ND, and RFS students. Keith still does commercial tree work.
Qualifications
RFS Cert Arb. (Credit), NPTC assessor, Certificate in Education, and a Lantra registered instructor. (Keith was originally a FastCo instructor). The prices are really competitive and he will come to you if necessary and suit the requirements. He has been in the industry for years and is easy to get on with and has a reputation for explaining jargon in easily understood terms.
The most widely requested training courses are for the NPTC units, 30,31, 38, 39, 40, and 41. These are the main requirements for an arborist in industry. Please see the Courses and Training page for more details and prices.
